Know that we do understand situations arise that prevent you from being able to continue to care for your pet. Making the decision to surrender your pet can be a very difficult one, and we are here to help.
An appointment is required to surrender your pet to HSI.
Prior to your appointment, there are things you can do to help speed up the intake process:
- Bring your pet's vaccination and other vet records
- Bring any medications your pet is currently taking
- Have your pet's coat clean and brushed
You are encouraged to bring some of your pet's favorite items along with you to help the pet transition more easily into the new environment. Donations of kennels, carriers, and other pet supplies are also greatly appreciated and are tax deductible
