Fundraising Tips

Mutt Strut isn't just a day of fun for you and your pet - it is HSI's biggest fundraising event for the year. For that, we need your help! You've made the commitment to help the animals at the shelter by walking in this year's Mutt Strut - now ask your friends, neighbors, co-workers and relatives to help out, too. Tell them why HSI is important to you, and encourage them to support your efforts!

Here are just a few suggestions for ways to increase your fundraising:

• Create a personal goal, tell your friends and family and keep them updated on your progress.
• Check with your employer's matching gifts representative to see how you may be able to double your pledges.
• Use the email from your personal fundraising page.
• Ask your pet-owning friends and neighbors to sponsor you or recruit them to walk with you.
• Keep a pledge sheet with you at all times. You never know who you might meet.
• Spotlight your own pet when asking for sponsorships. Pictures are powerful.
