Register now for Mutt Strut 2011

February 1st, 2011

Register now for Mutt Strut 2011

Get ready for the greatest spectacle in dog walking on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!

Mutt Strut is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Indy-based, independent, and non-profit Humane Society of Indianapolis, and because we don't receive money from taxes, the government, or national animal-welfare organizations, Mutt Strut makes IndyHumane's mission possible.

It's easy to get involved!

The 8th annual Mutt Strut is from 11am - 3pm, rain or shine. Enjoy the day's events with Brad Stevens (Head Coach, Men's Basketball, Butler University), Butler Blue II (Official Mascot of Butler University), and many more!

You'll then have the opportunity to walk the 2.5-mile Track with your pup and pals, hang out in the Plaza, or just watch the spectacle.

Your dog can be the Top Dog!

The dog of this year's top individual fundraiser will be next year's Top Dog, featured on and every poster and flyer promoting Mutt Strut 2012. (Read more about the Top Dog prizes and rules.)

Don't want to strut your stuff? Join the Cat Nap Club!

For all those who want to support the Humane Society of Indianapolis but prefer to sleep in on Sunday mornings, we'll mail your Mutt Strut t-shirt and a special message from the felines at IndyHumane!

For full details about Mutt Strut 2011, including minimum donation fees, fundraising tips, and more, visit today!

Steven Stolen named CEO of IndyHumane

May 9th, 2017

The Humane Society of Indianapolis (IndyHumane) announced today that Steven Stolen has been named the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. Stolen’s official start date is June 1, 2017.

Current CEO John Aleshire announced on September 28, 2016 that he would retire from the Humane Society of Indianapolis after leading the organization for eight years. Following this announcement, IndyHumane began conducting a search for Aleshire’s successor. The organization worked with a third-party consultant, and also spent time discussing the transition with current and former board members, staff, volunteers, and community members. The very thorough process led to the selection of Stolen, and he will lead IndyHumane into its next phase.
